EMPLOYEE WALKING CLUB GIVES $3350 TO RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
NORTH ATLANTIC’S EMPLOYEE WALKING CLUB RAISES $3,350 FOR RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
(Wednesday, June 9, 2010) Health and wellness is alive and walking at North Atlantic. Each day, refinery and marketing employees take to the street on their lunch break to keep fit and to raise funds for the charity of their choice.
This year the 60-member dinnertime walking club completed 3,350 walks, which translates into $3,350 for charity. This year’s charity of choice is Ronald McDonald House.
"Since its start in 2005, North Atlantic’s DinnerTime Dodgers have walked nearly 44,000 kilometres and have raised $21,350 for charity. For each lunchtime walk that our employees take, our company donates one dollar into the dodger’s charity fund. At the end of the year, walkers vote for their charity of choice,” says Gloria Warren Slade, North Atlantic’s Communications Manager.
