It's a great honour to be awarded for the work we do. All of our accomplishments and successes are a direct result of the excellent teamwork performed by our talented and dedicated employees - all 600 of them. Here is a brief look at some of the awards we have received over the years.
Atlantic Canada's Top 25 Employers - November 2009
North Atlantic Refining earned a spot on Mediacorp Canada’s list of top employers in Atlantic Canada. This award recognizes companies that lead their fields in creating progressive workplaces and providing exceptional benefits that are a cut above others in their field. North Atlantic was chosen based on attributes such as employee health benefits, social activities, employee communications, employee training and skills development, and community involvement.
Employer Partner 2008 – March 2008 Memorial University honoured North Atlantic with its Employer Partner award for outstanding support of co-operative education at Memorial. North Atlantic has a longstanding relationship with co-op education and welcomes up to 20 co-op students each semester.
Canada's Top 100 Employers - October 2007 (For 2008) For the third year in a row, North Atlantic was named in the Top 100 Employers in Canada. As voted by Mediacorp Canada and Maclean's magazine.
Community Champion Award - April 2007 An award for the many contributions that North Atlantic makes to Newfoundland charities, fundraisers, and scholarships -- up to $250,000 a year. This award is presented by NOIA.
Newfoundland Exporter of the Year - March 2007 Exports make up roughly 90 percent of North Atlantic's business, with more than $3 billion in clean fuels shipped to environment-conscious customers around the world each year. This award is presented by the Government of Newfoundland/Labrador, Department of Innovation, Trade, and Rural Development.
Canada’s Top 100 Employers – October 2006 (For 2007) Once again, North Atlantic ranked in the Top 100 Employers in Canada as voted by Mediacorp Canada and Maclean’s Magazine.
2005 Environmental Award - October 2005 This award recognizes our contribution to and our protection of the environment. Presented by Mount Pearl Chamber of Commerce.
Canada's Top 10 Best Companies - October 2005 (For 2006) The Financial Post named North Atlantic Refining as one of the best companies to work with in Canada.
Canada's Top 100 Employers - October 2005 (For 2006) Presented by Mediacorp and listed in Maclean's magazine, this designation celebrates Canadian companies that go above and beyond the call of duty for their employees and the community.
Employer of Distinction Award - September 2005 Presented by the Newfoundland and Labrador Employer’s Council in recognition of a company that places value in their workforce, gives back to the community they help build, and sets new standards for excellence in human resources.
